Partner Success: Lung Screening in Rural Nevada

12 December, 2023

Screening for lung cancer with low-dose CT isn't new, but many people are still unaware of the importance of this early detection method and its ability to reduce cancer deaths. Radiologic technologist Diane Klassen from Winnemucca's Humboldt General Hospital saw the potential for increasing lung screening with LDCT in her community and developed and launched a program in just a few short months.

Her success was immediate, and she shared how she built her program at the 2023 Nevada Cancer Control Summit. Klassen also helped NCC and partners to build a lung screening toolkit to provide others with resources to build a lung screening program.

Read more about Klassen's effort in our first Partner Success Story.
