When people come together and work toward a common cause, great things can happen! Nevada Cancer Coalition (NCC) is just that—partners working together to improve the health of Nevadans by reducing the burden of cancer in our communities.
The Sun Smart Manager leads NCC's Sun Smart skin cancer prevention and early detection portfolio of work across the state. This role owns skin cancer education strategy and delivery in both school settings and other community settings, supports planning and execution of skin check clinics, and represents NCC in partner coalitions focused on skin cancer prevention. Responsible for recruiting, coordinating, and training college students – most notably dermatology students – and other volunteers, this role manages an army of “Sun Smart” messengers to reduce the incidence of skin cancer across Nevada!
ABOUT US: NCC is a statewide non-profit organization that is Nevada’s leading resource for comprehensive cancer control. We support healthcare professionals with resources and education, collaborate with partners to develop evidence-based projects and programs, provide outreach for and access to cancer screening and prevention resources, and advocate for policies to improve access to healthcare for all. We are passionate and focused on results, but know how to inject a lot of joy into our workday.
ABOUT YOU: The Sun Smart Manager is a passionate, organized, and mission-driven leader who brings both heart and structure to their work. They are deeply dedicated to health and have an exceptional ability to connect with learners of all ages (including adults!) how to be sun smart and diligent in screening for cancer. They are comfortable in both small and large crowds, and in working with volunteers and college students. This person thrives in collaborative environments, can communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders. They are detail-oriented and highly reliable, with strong documentation and follow-through skills in grant-funded settings. Equally strategic and practical, they can see the big picture while maintaining strong workflows, data tracking, and operational continuity. They are adaptable, solutions-focused, and energized by building and sustaining programs to meet the needs of our communities.
The ideal team member will have a bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, healthcare administration, education or related field; bilingual would be a huge plus; have experience in program coordination, health education, outreach or prevention programming, and in delivering presentations; demonstrated ability to manage logistics, schedules, and volunteers; and be willing to travel throughout Nevada and occasionally outside the state; a valid driver’s license; ability to pass a background check; willingness to work some evenings and weekends.

- Full-time, salary position at $63,000 per year DOE
