Partner Success: Pink & Pearls Ties Lung and Breast Screening to Increase Uptake

04 April, 2024

Breast cancer screening has become so normalized in our culture that many people—even those who do not need one—know what a mammogram is. Knowledge of lung cancer screening, however, is still not widespread. There are many people, however, who may be eligible for both breast and lung cancer screening.

Partners at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas saw the potential to educate the community about lung cancer screening by tying it to breast cancer screening throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and into Lung Cancer Awareness Month in November. The “Pink and Pearls” campaign was such a success, Sunrise plans to build upon the concept for future years.
