Ever heard of Don't Fry Day? For people with fair, easily sunburned skin that's likely every day. But for cancer prevention advocates it's the Friday before Memorial Day each year, this year on Friday, May 22. It's an annual day to remind people to protect their skin from UV radiation, sunburn, and skin damage that can lead to skin cancer. Protecting your skin is simple, and you may already be heeding some of the tips, such as wearing a hat or sunglasses or applying sunscreen.

Monday, May 4 marks the annual “Melanoma Monday,” an awareness day created by the American Academy of Dermatologists to promote early detection and prevention for melanoma and other types of skin cancer. The day also helps to kick off Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month, recognized nationally each May.
