CELL Series Webinar: Stronger through every stage, the role of cancer rehabilitation

11 November, 2026

Cancer rehabilitation is an essential, yet often underutilized, component of comprehensive cancer care. Rehabilitation is not limited to recovery after treatment. Evidence shows that rehabilitation interventions before, during and after cancer treatment can improve physical function, reduce treatment-related side effects, enhance quality of life and help patients return to the activities that matter most. Early referral and timely intervention can also reduce complications, support treatment completion and improve long-term outcomes.

In this webinar, Sarah Blount from Cancer Rehab Group will explore how rehabilitation supports patients throughout the cancer care continuum. Participants will learn how prehabilitation prepares patients physically and emotionally before treatment begins, how rehabilitation during active treatment helps manage symptoms such as fatigue, neuropathy, swallowing difficulties and mobility limitations, and how targeted rehabilitation after treatment restores strength, function and independence. The session also will examine the role of rehabilitation in long-term survivorship, helping individuals maintain health, monitor late effects and continue living well after cancer treatment has ended.
