Make lung cancer screening a stronger part of your practice with free, personalized support

10 October, 2026

Identifying eligible patients, making referrals and helping people overcome barriers to lung cancer screening takes coordination. Nevada Cancer Coalition offers free academic detailing sessions to help clinicians, clinics and screening programs strengthen that work with education and resources tailored to their needs.

The sessions are designed for busy health care teams: They last 15 to 45 minutes and can take place virtually or in person, one-on-one or with a group. Whether you are looking to strengthen your screening approach or address challenges in an established program, NCC invites you to schedule a conversation.

Practical tools for your team

Academic detailing provides an opportunity to discuss lung cancer screening in the context of your practice or organization. NCC’s sessions combine personalized education, practical tools, and ongoing support to help teams increase screening, reduce stigma, promote tobacco cessation, and improve early detection.

Participants receive best practices for identifying and referring eligible patients, resources for clinicians and patients, tobacco cessation support materials and strategies for overcoming common screening barriers. Sessions also include exclusive access to a resource portal.

For an individual clinician, that conversation can focus on questions about identifying patients and making referrals. For a clinic or screening program, it can be an opportunity to bring team members together to discuss shared challenges and resources that could support their work.

A conversation that goes both ways

Your team’s experience matters. NCC wants to hear what is working in your organization, where patients encounter barriers and what support would be useful.

Sharing those successes and challenges helps NCC better understand local needs and support efforts to improve lung cancer screening across Nevada.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Nevada. Strengthening screening supports the Nevada Cancer Plan’s goal of increasing early detection to reduce late-stage diagnoses.

Schedule a free session for yourself or your team. Contact Kayla Ramsey, NCC’s lung cancer screening program manager, by email or call 775-451-1670, ext. 109, to arrange a virtual or in-person meeting.
