Family Day with the Reno Aces and Nevada Cancer Coalition

Join NCC for Family Day at Greater Nevada Field as the Reno Aces take on the Las Vegas Aviators! It's a true north vs. south matchup that we can't wait to enjoy with all our friends.

NCC will be giving away fun prizes and fans will have a chance to spin the wheel and test their knowledge of cancer prevention and early detection. We'll also have sunscreen on hand for that bright overhead sun. 

Get Ready: Skin Cancer Awareness Month is Nearly Here

It’s nearly our favorite time of year: Skin Cancer Awareness Month. The annual recognition happens each May, just before the Memorial Day weekend and the letting out of schools across the country. It’s a time of year when the sun’s UV rays are getting more intense, and so too should our sun safety efforts.

Skin Cancer Awareness Month, also called Skin Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Month, is May 1-31 and includes a few additional dates to note.

Patient Webinar: Basal Cell Skin Cancer

Family Health Festival

Join NCC and more than a dozen other resources for free health services, community services, food resources and more. The event is for the whole family. Services include COVID-19 vaccines, routine immunizations, cancer screenings, Food Bank's Mobile Pantry, a raffle for free bikes and children's books. 

At this event NCC will dermatologists on hand to provide free skin cancer checks.

She's also a member of the Skin of Color Society, an association of dermatology professionals with a special interest in skin concerns for people with skin of color. National Volunteer Week: Mentors Give More Than Just Their Time

Did you know that nationwide there are nearly 13,000 “mentor angels” volunteering their time to provide support and guidance to people diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers? People who receive this support from volunteer mentors have said the value and importance of what they receive cannot be measured.

As we reach the end of National Volunteer Week, we thought it timely to highlight the volunteer opportunities offered through ThriveNV in a partnership with Imerman Angels.
