Report: Evidence Shows HPV Vaccine is Reducing Cervical Cancer in U.S. Women

A recent CDC report provides compelling evidence that the HPV vaccine is effectively reducing cervical cancer rates among young U.S. women. The study observed an approximately 80% decline in precancerous lesions among women aged 20 to 24 who underwent cervical cancer screening between 2008 and 2022. This significant decrease is attributed to the widespread administration of the HPV vaccine, recommended for girls since 2006 and boys since 2011.

Therefore, it is critical for primary care providers to remain current with guidelines. Understanding the initial cancer therapy is also essential for optimal patient care, as patients often seek information from multiple sources, including their primary providers. This conference will address numerous topics related to common forms of cancer commonly seen and often diagnosed by PCPs.
