The event includes bingo, a raffle, crafts, silent auction, memory tree and more.

Clinical Trials 101 with Imerman Angels

Imerman Angels, an NCC partner, and Lazarex Cancer Foundation host this community event to provide a broad overview and understanding of what clinical trials are, the benefits of joining one and some questions potential participants should consider. Participants should walk away feeling more confident about the role clinical trials play in our understanding of cancer, and the steps needed to research and enroll in an active trial.

The hope, also, is to demonstrate how peer-to-peer mentoring can improve participation in clinical trials.

Skin cancer continues to be most common cancer in Nevada, U.S.

More people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in Nevada than all other cancers combined, according to the American Cancer Society. This year it’s estimated 800 Nevadans will be diagnosed with melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, and thousands more will be told they have basal cell or squamous cell carcinomas.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month and an opportunity for sun safety advocates and dermatologists to remind the community to take care of their skin.
