Survivorship care plans linked to better long-term outcomes for childhood cancer survivors

Thanks to advances in treatment, more children are surviving cancer than ever before — with nearly 580,000 childhood cancer survivors expected to live in the U.S. by 2040. But life after treatment can bring new challenges. Many survivors face higher risks of long-term physical and emotional health problems, additional cancers, and early death.

NCC to Attend Pink Ribbon Night with Patrice at Reno Public Market

Get ready for an evening of uplifting, toe-tapping country rock as Patrice Luciano, a gifted vocalist and songwriter from Sparks, Nevada, takes the stage from 7 to 9:30 pm, Friday, Nov. 21 at Reno Public Market, 299 E Plumb Lane in Midtown Reno. The evening will also feature Nevada Cancer Coalition, on hand with information on breast cancer awareness and early detection, alongside breast screening schedulers from Renown Health who will be able to schedule mammograms from the event.

Six Sites Open Nov. 8 for National Lung Cancer Screening Day

Six lung cancer screening facilities in Nevada will open their doors on Saturday, Nov. 8 as part of the fourth annual National Lung Cancer Screening Day. The nationwide event is part of Lung Cancer Awareness Month and has hundreds of hospitals, radiology centers, and other screening facilities across the U.S. offering low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) lung cancer screening to the public on a Saturday.

Capacitación para navegadores de pacientes de oncología: Los fundamentos

The GW Cancer Center launched a fully translated Spanish version of the free on-demand course titled Capacitación para navegadores de pacientes de oncología: Los fundamentos (Oncology Patient Navigator Training: The Fundamentals). The guide that accompanies the course is now also available in Spanish. The translated training is exactly the same as the English version and aligns to both the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Professional Oncology Navigation Task Force Practice (PONT) requirements.

2026-2030 Nevada Cancer Plan Kickoff

Join us for the launch of the 2026-2030 Nevada Cancer Plan. In this lunch and learn we'll review the data that drove development of the plan, provide a high level overview of the goals and objectives, discuss some of the crosscutting issues that affect all priority areas, and discuss how anyone can use the plan to make changes, large or small, that help reduce the burden of cancer in Nevada.
