Resource Highlight: Cancer Community Clubhouse
08 August, 2023
Natalie, the founder of Cancer Community Clubhouse, moved to Reno from Texas and immediately saw a need. As a metastatic cancer thriver she knew that having a place to reconnect with life, learn, engage with others who knew what life with cancer was like, and gain emotional support was vital -- and Reno didn't have that.
She built Cancer Community Clubhouse as "a beacon of light through the cancer tunnel." The nonprofit offers free community-based and volunteer-supported services and programs for survivors and caregivers designed to reconnect, recharge, and empower survivors and caregivers so they can live their most fulfilling lives.
CCC has a packed calendar of social and educational activities including mind/body skills groups, meditation groups, journaling workshops, yoga, art and craft events, member socials, lunch and learns, and other activities. And it's all free, supported by community donations and sponsorships.
